Types of Braces

Today’s braces are better looking and more comfortable than ever before. Now patients have a variety of different orthodontic options to choose from, including metal braces, tooth-colored braces, and Invisalign.

Metal Braces

Our state of the art stainless steel braces are self-ligating.  Self-ligating means there is no more need for colored elastic ties, which lose their elasticity rapidly.  By eliminating the elastic ties, patients can go much longer between adjustments.  As a result, many of our patients make many fewer trips to see us, compared to those with traditional braces.

Ceramic Braces

Our ceramic brackets are also self-ligating, so you won’t need the clear elastic ligatures which tend to pick up stains from the foods you eat. They are tooth-colored and much less noticeable.

Invisalign is an orthodontic option which utilizes the latest advances in 3-D computer technology. Teeth are moved using a series of custom-made clear aligners that are nearly invisible. This treatment option is best for patients with orthodontic problems such as mild to moderate spacing or crowding, or relapse from previous orthodontic treatment.
